Another good one. I appreciate how you were able to deconstruct the “they deserved it” justification by calling it what it is: collectivism. Once you said it, it made perfect sense, but honestly it had never occured to me before. Amazing how blind we can be sometimes.
It’s been a while since I listened, but I remembered that Dan Carlin did one of his Hardcore History shows about the nuking of Japan. I remember I found it interesting at the time I listened…will have to go back now that my views have expanded a bit and see if it still holds the same fascination.
